Counselor Opportunities
Camp Chatterbox hires a core of creative and highly motivated individuals to work as counselors for the Camp Chatterbox Program. Counselors must have some background working with children with physical impairments. They are required to attend 1 ½ days of training prior to the arrival of the campers. Counselor responsibilities include leading the campers in recreational activities, assisting in transporting campers to activities, teaching and leading the campers in songs, assisting with serving and clean up for meals, participating in the talent show and the like. Applicants must be a team player. If you possess these skills and would like to work in this special camp program, please download the counselor application and reference forms. Early application is recommended. Counselors are paid for their participation in the program, however, they are responsible for travel costs associated with arrival at Camp Warren.
Therapist Opportunities
Camp Chatterbox employs speech pathologists to work as a part of the weeklong program. Therapists must be highly experienced in working with children who use AAC and be familiar with using Aided Language Stimulation as an intervention technique. Typically therapists who have participated in the Chatterbox Professional Training Program are hired to work as therapists.
